British Open 2006

 

The 2006 Open Golf Championship will be played over Royal Liverpool Golf Course from the 20th - 23rd July 2006

For our 2006 British Open tour, Golf Scotland has secured rooms at three quality hotels throughout the UK.  Rusacks Hotel in St Andrews, The Prince of Wales Hotel in Southport, only 30 Miles away from Royal Liverpool Golf Course and Finally The Glasgow Moat House to allow an easy departure at the end of your trip.

Our package includes full Scottish/English breakfast each morning, a Scottish Gala Dinner with Entertainment, all transfers throughout between hotels and golf, tickets to the final two days of the Open Championship, and three rounds of golf over St Andrews New, Carnoustie Championship and Prestwick Golf Course.
  • Tuesday 18th July: Arrive in the UK and transfer to Rusacks Hotel, St Andrews.  This will be your based for the next three nights accommodation.  After travelling to the UK use the afternoon leisure time to relax.

  • Wednesday 19th July: Golfers today will play over the St Andrews New Course.  Although called 'The New' the course is in fact over 100 years old and is considered by the locals to be the toughest Course in St Andrews

  • Thursday 20th July: Golfers today will play over Carnoustie Golf Course.  Carnoustie is to host the 2007 Open Championship and is considered by most to be the toughest of all the Open Championship Links.  Scottish Gala Dinner with Entertainment at the Hotel

  • Friday 21st July: After breakfast, the group will be transferred to The Prince of Wales Hotel, Southport.  This will be the groups base for the next three nights stay.  On route to the Hotel the group will stop at Lake Windermere for a boat trip around the lake.  Lunch will be provided on the boat.
  • Saturday 22nd July: Today after breakfast, everyone will be transferred to Royal Liverpool for the Third Days Play of the 2006 Open Championship.
  • Sunday 23rd July: Today after breakfast, everyone will be transferred to Royal Liverpool for the Final Days Play of the 2006 Open Championship and the presentation of the ‘Claret Jug’ trophy to the winner.


  • Monday 23rd July:  Today after Breakfast the group will be transferred to Prestwick to play a round over Prestwick Old Course.  Prestwick was the venue for the first ever Open Championships held in 1860.  After golf the group will be taken to The Glasgow Moat House for their final nights stay.
  • Tuesday 24th July: Transfer to airport for return Home.
