2009 British Open Tour | 2009 British Open 4 Night Tour
 

The 2009 Open Golf Championship will be played over Turnberry Ailsa Golf Course from the 16th - 19th July.

 

The Ailsa Came to international prominence in 1977, with the legendary between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson in the Open Championship. In brilliantly sunny weather, a capacity crowd was treated to an exhilarating display of golf from two of the finest players the world has ever seen.

This contest was the first of several epic clashes that have taken place on the Ailsa in recent years, with Greg Norman and Nick Price also battling through to win the coveted claret jug.

The Ailsa is Turnberry's masterpiece, a course that Colin Montgomerie has called:

'the finest links golf course in the world'

For our 2009 British Open tour, Golf Scotland has secured rooms at The fabulous 4 Star Carnoustie Hotel and one of  Scotlands finest hotels, Cameron House Hotel, located on the peaceful shores of Loch Lomond.

Our package includes full Scottish breakfast each morning, a Cocktail Reception and Welcome Dinner on arrival, Farewell Gala Dinner, all transfers throughout between hotels and golf, tickets to the final two days of the Open Championship, and 2 rounds of championship golf over Carnoustie & Gleneagles PGA Course .


 

  • Tuesday 14th July: Arrive into Scotland at either Edinburgh or Glasgow Airports and transfer to The Carnoustie Golf Course Hotel.  After travelling to the UK use the afternoon leisure time to relax.  In the Evening Golf Scotland will host a Cocktail Reception and Welcome Dinner in the Carnoustie Hotel.
  • Thursday 16th July: Golfers today will play over Gleneagles PGA Golf Courses. The PGA Centenary course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is a modern classic and has been nominated to host the 2014 Ryder Cup.  After golf you will be transfered to the 5* Star Cameron House Hotel.
  • Friday 17th July: This is a free day for our clients however an additional round of Golf can be arranged over the fantastic Loch Lomond Carrick course by request.
  • Saturday 18th July: After breakfast, everyone will be transferred to Turnberry Ailsa for the third days play of the 2009 Open Championship.  Farewell Dinner in Hotel.
  • Sunday 19th July: Today after breakfast, everyone will be transferred to Turnberry Ailsa for the Final Days Play of the 2009 Open Championship. Our guests will travel back to the hotel for the final night, after the presentation of the ‘Claret Jug’ trophy to the winner.
  • Monday 20th July: Transfers for departure home to Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport .

Please note - Arrivals/Departures outwith Glasgow or Edinburgh Airports will incur an additional transfer fee.
