The Ardgowan Hotel, is centrally located with-in St Andrews, on North Street, 200 yards from the world famous Old Course golf course and R&A building. The Ardgowan hotel is also near the town centre and the University of St Andrews. The Ardgowan comprises of two adjoining Georgian Houses of architectural note designed by the famous Scottish Architect Sir William Playfair.   Set back within our own seated patio offering nineteen comfortable ensuite bedrooms, Scottish restaurant and lounge bar where we serve a wide variety of freshly prepared food using top quality local suppliers and Scottish malts.

Playfair's restaurant is well known for its Scottish cuisine from people who visit and stay with in St Andrews. We use only the highest quality of fresh Scottish produce available to us, whenever possible from local suppliers. We prepare our dessert's in house, to our very own recipes to give that special home baked taste. We only use ice cream made by a Brittish award winning local firm called 'Luvians' to complement our home-made desserts.
